Paul Starks
Paul is a homegrown Maryland native who was raised by his parents with five siblings in Rockville. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park where he earned a B.A. in Law Enforcement. He later earned an M.S. in Management at the Johns Hopkins University. With public safety on his mind, Paul chose to serve his community, making a career of over 30 years with the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), first as an officer in a variety of assignments and later where he rose to the rank of Captain, serving his last 11 years as the Director of the Public Information Office and the lead spokesperson for the Department.
During his time off from the police department, Paul developed an interest in real estate; buying and selling multiple residential properties in Maryland for investment purposes as well as beach homes in Ocean City and North Carolina. After close to 35 years of service to his community with MCPD, Paul retired from a career in law enforcement and immediately followed his passion to become a Realtor.
After working elsewhere, Paul chose to be a team member of the Jim Bass Real Estate Group because of the high standard of professionalism and ethics that each team member exemplifies when serving an individual client or family involved in the most important purchase or sale in their lives. Quality of service and attention to detail are foundational in Paul’s relationship with each of his clients. Paul brings with him a host of professional contacts involved in the housing and real estate profession as well as so many community connections, personal relationships and experiences, all of which are resources that Paul calls upon to help each client achieve their goals.
Paul is married and lives in Frederick where he is a father to five boys and a stepfather to two girls. He and his wife, Michelle attend church at the Mount Airy Bible Church, enjoy attending practices and athletic contests that their children are involved in, and love time at the beach. Paul and his wife also run in local road races, recently completing multiple Frederick Half Marathons, a full marathon, and the inaugural Marine Corps 50 Kilometer run. Paul also successfully completed the JFK Memorial 50 Mile race held in Boonsboro. With those experiences in mind, Paul uses that same commitment, character, and endurance to ensure each of his clients cross the Finish line and get Home.
